Tragedy struck Monday morning in the rural, farming district of Freeman’s Hall in Trelawny, where a four-year-old girl was killed and her father injured in an incident at their home.
The deceased has been identified as Cloey Brown.
Reports from the police are that a dispute developed between two brothers, which resulted in threats being issued; and, about 1:05 am, Cloey and her father were at home when he was called by someone outside of the house.
When he opened the door, a tussle ensued followed by loud explosions, and Cloey was shot in the abdomen, while her father was shot in the leg, according to the police report.
They were taken to hospital where Cloey was pronounced dead and her father admitted in stable condition
Investigators are currently gathering evidence at the crime scene.
