6 Year Old Girl Child Rescued Sister from their burning house

Cory Palmer is hailing his six-year-old daughter, Cory-Ann ‘Princess’ Palmer, as a hero after she single-handedly dragged her one-year-old sister from their burning house at Ban Lane in Paradise, Norwood, in St James on Friday night.

Cory-Ann’s brothers, eight-year-old Javanchi Palmer and one-year-old Tyler McLeod, perished in the blaze. Cory-Ann and Tyler’s twin sister, Tailer McLeod, were injured.

Yesterday, Cory said that despite the pain of losing his only son, Javanchi, his daughter’s heroics had not gone unnoticed.

“Princess is a hero, and despite seh Javanchi dead inna the fire, mi thank God seh mi daughter manage fi save herself and save har little sister, too,” Palmer told THE STAR.

Up to press time yesterday, the police were questioning the children’s mother, 28-year-old Shantel Brown. It is alleged that she had left the four small children alone at their one-bedroom board dwelling when it caught fire.
